Intro to Sock Knitting: Toe-Up Construction (3-Hour Workshop)

Description

This sock knitting workshop is held at Craftique Studio in Cypress, TX — a welcoming yarn studio serving makers from Katy, Spring, Jersey Village, Copperfield, and the greater Houston area.

Curious about sock knitting but not sure where to start? This hands-on workshop is the perfect introduction. In this 3-hour class, you’ll knit a toe-up baby sock while learning a repeatable process that works for socks of any size, from babies to adults.

Using a baby sock allows us to move through every part of sock construction—toe, foot, heel, leg, and cuff—within the time we have, while focusing on understanding how socks are built rather than rushing to finish. The skills you learn in class can be directly applied to adult socks and future projects with confidence.

We’ll cover Judy’s Magic Cast On, toe shaping, foot length adjustments, and an introduction to toe-up heel construction. While some students may complete the sock during class, finishing in class is not required. The goal is to leave with a clear understanding of the structure and the confidence to finish—and repeat—the process at home in any size.
